Developer Forgotten Key knows you’ve probably never heard of their game. I mean, I follow gaming news and I never heard of it.

AER is an exploration experience game–a genre that has been picking up steam in the past few years with games like Dear Esther, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and Campo Santo’s not yet released title, Firewatch.

The game has you playing as a girl, who as the developer states, “[will have the] ability to transform into a bird, and you will fly to explore and experience a world of floating islands.”

The trailer looks awesome. This is what happens when you mix Grow Home with Skyward Sword and add a dash of Avatar.

AER will be released on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Mac next year.
