Hellblade Gamescom 2015 Trailer Focuses on the Game’s Protagonist

A brand new trailer for Ninja Theory’s psychological action game Hellblade has been released at Gamescom.

The trailer focuses on the game’s female protagonist, Senua.

Senua is a young Celtic warrior who struggles with her mental state as she battles a horrible Viking invasion.

Hellblade is touting itself as a journey into how the mind would handle the horrors of war. Senua will battle her own thoughts and fight off manifestations brought on by her psychosis.

I personally love Ninja Theory as a developer. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West  was an excellent game that deserved more attention.

Lookin’ good, guys. Lookin’ good.

  1. Yeah it looks good. Have yet play anything from Ninja Theory that suggests it will fail or potentially fail. DMC had so many elements I enjoyed, yet much I didn’t. There’s potential there for sure, I just hope Hellblade represents there ascendancy.

    1. I agree, their games are pretty well balanced in term of good design decisions/bad design decisions. My absolute favorite game they made was Enslaved, which is why I am super pumped for Horizon: Zero Dawn, it shares a lot of the same design aesthetics (they should really just call it Horizon, though). I can’t get enough of post-apocalyptic futures that are shrouded in mystery.
